Man Charged After Woman Shot And Killed In West Charlotte Parking Lot

The Latest(Updated 2/29/2020):

The CMPD has charged 23-year-old Dayshawn Beckham with the murder of 30-year-old Zenita Graham in west Charlotte on February 17th.

Detectives located Beckham and arrested him without incident on February 18th.   Beckham is charged with First Degree Murder and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, according to police.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a homicide after a woman was shot and killed in west Charlotte Monday night.

According to the CMPD, at about 8:06 p.m., officers responded to a shooting near the intersection of Rozzelles Ferry Road and Idaho Drive.

Arriving officers found a woman, in a parking lot, who had been shot.  Medic took the woman to the hospital where she later died.

No arrests have been made and police have not provided any suspect information.

The case is still under investigation and anyone with  information about this incident is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective.  Detective Lyon is the lead detective assigned to the case.  The public can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
