Two Charlotte Men Charged With Trying To Steal Flat Screen TVs From Lincoln County Walmart

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — Two Charlotte men were arrested over the weekend after authorities say they tried to steal flat screen televisions from a Lincoln County Walmart.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened at the Walmart on Highway 73 in Lincolnton around 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Walmart security told officers that two men picked out several televisions and other items while walking around the store.  Authorities say a Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy was waiting outside the grocery entrance when one of the men walked past all points of sale inside the store and into the parking lot.

The deputy detained the man in the patrol car until the second man exited the store several minutes later and pushed the shopping cart away until the officer confronted him.  Both suspects were taken to the Walmart Asset Protection office and it was determined that the value of the items they attempted to take was  $1,220, according to officials.

Investigators have charged 35-year-old Jesse Walls and 49-year-old Antoine Isles, both of Charlotte, with one count each of felony larceny, possession of stolen goods, and conspiracy.  They were each issued $10,000 secured bonds.
