Authorities Release Photos Of Suspect Vehicle After Man Shot During Road Rage Incident In Iredell County

Investigators have released photos of the suspect vehicle involved in a road rage shooting that left a Mooresville man in serious condition.

Witnesses initially described the suspect vehicle as a “Nissan Sentra” style vehicle.  During the investigation, detectives found video footage that shows the vehicle actually appears to be a 2008 or newer model Kia Forte.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair and slight facial hair.  Authorities say he was wearing sunglasses with orange reflective tint.

IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — A Mooresville man is in serious condition after he was shot during a road rage incident in Iredell County Sunday morning, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

Iredell County authorities say deputies responded to a shooting on Cornelius Road at a bout 11:40 a.m. on Sunday.  Arriving deputies found Brian Ludwick suffering from a gunshot to his abdomen.

Numerous witnesses told deputies that the shooting was the result of a road rage incident.

Officials say Ludwick was traveling on Fern Hill Road in a silver Ford Explorer, when he passed a a slower moving vehicle and driver of the slower moving vehicle began tailgating Ludwick’s vehicle.

According to the ICSO, while both vehicles were stopped at the intersection of Judas Road and Cornelius Road, the suspect threw an object at Ludwick’s vehicle.   Ludwick followed the suspect vehicle onto Cornelius Road, where the suspect pulled into the driveway of a residence.

Authorities say Ludwick got out of his car and approached the suspect vehicle before the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot Ludwick in the abdomen.   The suspect then sped off onto Cornelius Road and turned onto Judas Road.

Ludwick was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where officials say he is serious but stable condition.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair and slight facial hair.  Authorities say he was wearing sunglasses with orange reflective tint.  The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model silver or grey “Nissan Sentra styled car.”
