One Firefighter, One Civilian Injured After Massive Fire At South Charlotte Apartment Complex
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Extensive damage and two injured after an early morning fire at a south Charlotte apartment complex. It took several firefighters to get the fire under control.
The incident occurred before 4 a.m. on Yager Creek Drive, off of South Tryon Street in the area near the Walmart shopping center.
The Charlotte Fire Department tweeted at 5:31 a.m. that the fire was declared under control.
The cause has been determined as accidental with a property loss that is estimated to be $700,000, CFD tweeted.
There is also a content loss of an estimated $50,000. All residents from the complex have been displaced and American Red Cross is working to assist them.
It has been confirmed that one firefighter and one civilian were injured during the two alarm fire.
