Teen Dies Weeks After Four-Wheeler Accident

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A teen has died after a four-wheeler accident that happened in northwest Charlotte two weeks ago, CMPD said.

Officers responded to a single-vehicle accident on February 15 around 5:50 p.m. on Stardust Drive, which it is off of Oakdale Drive.

Upon arrival, a 14-year-old was located and transported to a hospital where he was treated for life-threatening injuries, according to CMPD.

After investigating it was revealed that the teen was operating a four wheeler on private property while under the supervision of adults.

While driving onto a nearby property the four wheeler rolled over and caused him to be ejected while not wearing a helmet. The victim then sustained life-threatening injuries as a result.

The victim who has been identified as Amari Ford has passed away on February 29 as a result of the collision.

The investigation into this collision is active and ongoing.
