Marie Osmand Says Her Kids Won’t Inherit Her Fortune, Says It Would Be “Disservice” To Hand It Over To Them

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Singer and actress Marie Osmond is trending after she revealed to the ladies of The Talk, that she will not leave her 8 children any money when she passes. Osmond’s reported net worth is $20 million. She says it would actually be a disadvantage for them to get a portion of her fortune. Osmond says, “My husband and I decided that you know what, I think you do a great disservice to your children, to just hand them a fortune, because you take away the one most important gift you can give your children and that’s the ability to work. And you see it a lot in rich families, rich kids, they don’t know what to do and they just get in trouble. So let them be proud of what they make, and I’m going to give it to my charity.”

The topic is gaining a lot of attention, with people online saying things like:
“You’re a terrible mom. You’re not leaving your money to your kids? You’re awful.”
“Updated report: Marie Osmond’s kids declare they aren’t celebrating Mother’s Day.”
“Marie Osmond was 3 when she made her first appearance. She didn’t work hard for that – someone helped her. Her reasons are hypocritical.”

Our question of the night: should your children be entitled to your money when you’re gone?
