Kylie Jenner Rents $10K Per Night Villa For Vacation: Do You Like Buying Things Or Experiences?

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – 22-year-old makeup mogul Kylie Jenner spares no expense when she needs to get away from her hectic lifestyle. And that’s exactly what she’s done on her winter vacation in the Bahamas. Jenner reportedly took her daughter Stormi, and best friends Victoria, Anastasia, Amber, and Yris to stay at the brand-new Villa Rosalita on Harbour Island. And if you keep up with the Kardashians, you know this is no ordinary villa where they stayed! The 6 bedroom, 7.5 bathroom estate came with a fully stocked kitchen and chef, and private beach access. It allegedly cost somewhere around $10,000 a night.

And as delightful as that sounds, here on the Edge we do our investigate reporting and we know that no amount of money can buy happiness. But it can buy experiences, according to a study from Entrepreneur.com, happiness levels increase with income up to roughly $75,000 in annual salary. However a study from Under30Experiences.com says experiences can make us happier, rather than having money and buying expensive items.

Psychology professor Thomas Gilovich says, “Our experiences are a bigger part of ourselves than our material goods. You can really like your material stuff. You can even think that part of your identity is connected to those things, but nonetheless, they remain separate from you. In contrast, your experiences really are part of you. We are the sum total of our experiences.”

Our question of the night: would you rather buy experiences or buy things?
