SWAT Situation Ends Peacefully In Tega Cay, Two People Arrested
TEGA CAY, S.C. — A SWAT situation ended peacefully in a Tega Cay neighborhood on Friday afternoon.
The standoff happened on Palmyra Drive before noon.
SLED attempted to serve a warrant to 27-year-old Hardee Baldwin. They said he had outstanding warrants on grand larceny and burglary charges out of Colleton County. According to authorities, 21-year-old Sheena Dilauro was also inside the house and was arrested.
Negotiators on a loud speaker attempted all day long to get both of them out of the house. Neighbors stood by and watched in disbelief.
“I heard the sirens, two short sirens, it didn’t sound like local Tega Cay sirens. I saw police in my front yard,” says Wes Worden, neighbor. Nearby Tega Cay Elementary was placed on a soft lockdown. Patty Kaplan’s young son is a student there.
“They locked the doors and told the kids that there was a person that was very dangerous in the neighborhood,” said Patty Kaplan, neighbor.
After 7 hours of negotiations, law enforcement finally took Baldwin and the woman into custody. No word on what charges she will face. Baldwin will be transported back to Colleton County to face charges there.
