Volunteers, Habitat For Humanity Build Home For Charlotte Mother
CHARLOTTE – A family will soon be able to move into their new home in West Charlotte.
Dozens of women volunteers teamed up with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a local single mother. It was partly inspired by International Women’s Day Sunday. The future home-owner also helped out. She says she’s thankful to the women for helping build her family’s future.
“It’s amazing to build your own home. At the end of the day, I will be able to fix things that are broken, because I have the experience of building it,” says Latawnya Thomas.
Women in 235 communities in Africa, Canada and India will be building new Habitat Houses this week to celebrate International Women’s Day.
