Baxter-Fort Mill Spring Fest And St. Patrick’s Parade Cancelled Amid Coronavirus Concerns

FORT MILL, S.C. — The Baxter-Fort Mill Spring Fest and St. Patrick’s Parade have been cancelled amid coronavirus community spread concerns.  A post on the Facebook event page says:

“After consulting with SC DHEC, as well as learning that neighboring NC has declared a state of emergency, and that cases are rising, we felt it best to cancel. It wasn’t an easy decision, as event coordinators and vendors spent a few months preparing for this annual event. Looking forward to our huge July 4th Parade here in Baxter Village.”

North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper declared a State of Emergency on Tuesday.  Gov. Cooper says declaring the State of Emergency will activate the Emergency Operations Center to help agencies coordinate from one location and make it easier to purchase needed medical supplies, protect consumers from price gouging, and increase county health departments’ access to state funds.
