Carowinds Postpones Park Opening Until Friday, April 3rd Due To Coronavirus

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carowinds just announced that they are postponing the opening of their amusement park due to the coronavirus.

The park was originally scheduled to open on Saturday, March 21st to the general public.  They had a season pass-holders event scheduled for Friday, March 20th but that too has been postponed.  The new opening date has been listed for Friday, April 3rd.

Carowinds posted on Twitter saying they will continue to follow guidance from local and state officials, as well as the Centers for Disease Control.

There have not been any confirmed cases of coronavirus at any of Carowinds’ properties at this time, according to Carowinds.  This is a develop story.  Check back for updates.
