Balmy Weather Befriends Carolinas
We could be seeing some 80s to close out the week.
Spring officially starts on the 20th, but well-above average temperatures may make it feel like summer sooner rather than later. A weak area of high pressure has set up shop to our south, filtering in warm, but relatively stable, air across much of the Southeast. Scattered showers will begin rolling into the WCCB Charlotte viewing area shortly after sunset this evening before largely tapering off by sunrise Thursday. Expect temperatures to top out in the 70s and 80s in the Piedmont and Foothills tomorrow afternoon, while the High Country will see temperatures near 70°. An isolated afternoon shower or two is possible, especially for the High Country on Thursday. A very similar day will be on tap for Friday before a rainy cooldown moves in for the weekend.
Thursday: Showers early, then variable clouds. Warm. High: 80°. Wind: SW 5-15.
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Mild. Low: 64°. Wind: SW 5-15.
Friday: Mostly sunny. Warm and windy. High: 82°. Wind: SW 10-20. Gusts: 20-30.
