CHARLOTTE, N.C. — CMPD is investigating a homicide after a man was fatally injured following two homes and multiple vehicles being shot into in east Charlotte.
According to officers, a call for discharging a firearm came in around 11 p.m. on Sunday to Ilford Street off of The Plaza Street. Upon arrival, officers found that multiple homes had been shot into along with three parked, unoccupied vehicles but no one was found to be injured at the scene.
Around 11:15 p.m., an adult male victim was driven to Atrium Health Medical Center at University by acquaintances with a life-threatening gunshot wound.
According to CMPD, he was transported by MEDIC to Atrium – Main where the victim, who has been identified as 20-year-old Tyree McIntyre, died due to his injuries.
After an initial investigation it has been indicated that the victim was standing outside of a residence on Ilford Street when he was shot by the unknown suspect or suspects.
This is an ongoing, active investigation.
