Bill Cosby Wants Out Of Prison Because He’s Worried He’ll Catch Coronavirus

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – As the coronavirus pandemic grips the nation, The White House and Senate struck a deal for the biggest economic relief package in modern American history. President Donald Trump says, “This is by far the biggest ever done.” The plan, worth more than two trillion dollars, is expected to give critical help to American families, businesses forced to close, and hospitals struggling to fight the spread of the virus.

Sen. Mitch McConnell says, “In effect, this is a wartime level of investment into our nation.” Under the deal, most people would get checks up to $1,200 and married couples could see up to $2,400, depending on household income. An additional $500 would be sent for every child. It also significantly boosts unemployment insurance benefits and provides billions of dollars worth of loans for distressed companies and small businesses.

Sen. Chuck Schumer says, “To all Americans I say, ‘help is on the way.’ Big help and quick help.”

But the stimulus package facing some push back Wednesday from at least three fiscally conservative senators. Sen. Lindsey Graham says, “I’m concerned.” Push back also coming from some progressive Democrats who believe it favors corporations over workers. Despite the concerns, the bill has bipartisan support in both the House and the Senate. Rep. Nancy Pelosi says, “We recognize this is bigger than anything we have ever imagined. And I want people to have the confidence that everybody’s doing, hopefully as much as possible in a bipartisan way.” The goal is to get this much needed money into the hands of the American people, quickly.

New Wednesday: convicted rapist Bill Cosby is seeking early release from prison because of coronavirus. His lawyers are considering filing a motion to have the 82-year-old moved to house arrest to serve the rest of his 10 year sentence. They’re claiming Cosby could potentially catch the virus.
