Bizarre Twist Connects Two Separate Murder Charlotte Cases
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The man sitting in jail accused in the murder of beloved Brooks Sandwich House owner Scott Brooks, is now also accused in the murders of two more people: Asa Shannon and Siojvon Joseph. The well-liked couple was found dead, shot to death in their car, back in January on Atando Ave. in north Charlotte.
“It’s obviously a very concerning case and it’s more concerning when we are able to link somebody to multiple cases,” says Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Lt. Bryan Crum.
33-year-old Terry Connor, Junior was served warrants for Shannon and Joseph’s murders Friday morning, say police. The motive, they say: robbery. How they got him: “As this investigation progressed, detectives have continued to leverage our resources and do just good old fashioned police work. we were able to identify an additional suspect,” says Crum.
Steven Staples is also charged in the couple’s murder. Police were asked what led them to Friday’s charges. Crum says, “We can’t get into the specifics at this point. I can tell you that we have used forensics and interviews.”
