Actor’s Theatre Of Charlotte Cancels Remainder of Season

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (News Release) — Due to the unpredictability of the COVID-19 crisis and it’s effect on public gatherings, Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte makes the unfortunate decision to cancel the remainder of it’s current season.

This includes all performances of ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS and HEAD OVER HEELS as well as the nuVoices 6 New Play Festival and the free summer Shakespeare program, Midsummer Nights @Queens.

Actor’s Theatre’s General Manager, Laura Rice says “We are seeking a variety of relief funding from federal, state, and local resources, to cover the costs of our lost ticket sales revenue, and hopefully cover operating expenses (like salaries and rent) over the next couple of months. We are very optimistic about receiving these relief funds. However, in the event that those funds are not procured, in our efforts towards fiscal responsibility, the staff is prepared to be furloughed until we get closer to Season 32. We will not drain the funds we recently worked so hard to raise!”

The staff will plan to return to work in May to focus on and prepare for Season 32 which they hope to open in July.
