Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Bust In Iredell County
IREDELL COUNTY– A traffic stop led to a felony drug arrest in Iredell County, according to a news release.
On Friday, deputies with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a 2018 Dodge Challenger that was traveling south on Interstate 77.
Deputies say a narcotics detection canine was requested by deputies and the canine reportedly gave a positive indication of a controlled substance inside of the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle was conducted and deputies located a duffle bag in the trunk of the car. Inside the duffle bag, deputies say they found a large plastic container with 248 grams of Cocaine, 163 grams of Marijuana and $5,000 in cash, according to a news release.
Daniel Carlos McNeil II, 35, was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center where he was charged with: Felony Trafficking by Possession of Cocaine, Felony Trafficking by Transport of Cocaine, Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Marijuana, Felony Possession of Marijuana, and Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia.
