Two Charlotte Motorcycle Enthusiasts Killed Within 24 hours Of Each Other, While Riding

CHARLOTTE — Two Avid Motorcyclists died in separate crashes while riding their motorcycles in Charlotte.  CMPD says 41-year-old Seddrick Major was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle Sunday afternoon on Valleydale Road when he lost control, ran off the right side of the road, and slammed into a utility pole.  Police believe speed was a factor.  And, Monday morning, 60-year-old Cerveria Stanton was riding his Harley Davidson on South Boulevard, when he collided with the driver of a Nissan Altima.  Police say Linda Caldwell failed to yield the right of way when making a left turn.  Stanton was thrown from his motorcycle and later died at the hospital.  Caldwell is charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Friends say both men died doing what they love.

Serious, another motorcycle enthusiast, rode for years with Major.  He issued a warning for riders and drivers sharing the road.

“Slow down.  Remember, it’s not about you.  When you do things it affects all of us as a community,” says Serious.

Friends say both men were well-loved in the community.
