CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Detectives say a man was crossing Mount Holly Road when a Lexus struck and killed him on August 21st around 9 p.m.
The man, Braulio Salazar-Velazco, was found by officers lying dead in the roadway, according to a news release.
Police say the driver of the gray 2015 Lexus LS460, Lyudmila Yakimenko, was heading northwest on Mount Holly Road when she hit Salazar-Velazco and was not injured.
Salaxar-Velazco was crossing a part of the road without an intersection or crosswalk, but there were streetlights, according to a news release.
Police say that Yakimenko was not impaired or speeding, and stayed at the scene until officers showed up.
