Police Investigate A Motorcyclist Death In South Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say a motorcyclist hit a truck and died on August 22nd around 12 p.m.

Police say the driver of the 2013 Kawasaki EX650E, Kerry Burlinski, hit the front of a 2006 Ford F-150 and died on impact.

Driver of the Ford, Hernan Vega, was heading west on Wabash Avenue and turning into a driveway when Burlinski hit the Ford heading east, according to a news release.

Police say Burlinski was not wearing a helmet, and that speeding and reckless driving contributed to the crash.

Vega stayed at the scene until investigators arrived, and was not injured or impaired, according to a news release.
