CONCORD, N.C. — The City of Concord has given $5.9 million for a street preservation contract to NJR Group Inc., according to a news release.
The preservation project will resurface over 69 miles of roadway by patching and crack sealing during the weekdays for the next 12 months, according to a news release.
Concord’s Transportation Department says they have a new interactive map where community members will be given updates on the preservation project.
City Council officials say they prioritize street preservation, and that every two to three years they evaluate all 356 miles of roadway to see how best to use their money to help the community.
Motorists are asked to be alert and exercise caution while the project is underway, and to refrain from parking on the street, according to a news release.
