Charlotte Firefighters Perform High Angle Rescue For Injured Construction Worker

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Charlotte firefighters performed a high angle rescue for an injured worker at a construction site Friday afternoon.

The fire department was called to the scene around 12 p.m. after the worker reportedly was injured at an under construction building on North Kings Drive, outside uptown Charlotte nearby Central Piedmont Community College’s Central Campus.

Charlotte fire officials say 16 firefighters lowered the construction worker to the ground in 20 minutes.

The Charlotte Fire Department posted a video on social media showing a first-responder lowering the injured worker to the ground with a stretcher.

According to officials, the construction worker was working on the scaffolding 25 feet from the ground when they were injured.

After being rescued the worker was checked out by EMS for evaluation.
