CMPD: Detectives Investigate A Fatal Collision In Northwest Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Investigators say a Suzuki motorcycle crashed into a car killing the motorcyclist on Saturday, September 5th around 6 p.m.

Driver of the 2001 Suzuki GSX-R10, Travis Windley, was speeding southwest on Mount Holly-Huntersville Road when he collided with a 2016 Toyota Corolla making a left turn on Brookmere Lane, according to a news release

Medics took Windley to Atrium Health’s Carolinas Medical Center where he died, according to a news release.

Driver of the Toyota Corolla Camilla Clarke was not injured in the crash, and was not impaired, according to a news release.

Detectives say Windley was wearing a helmet, but did not have a valid license or a motorcycle endorsement, and was speeding at the time of the collision.
