Community officials say Catherine-Simmons is considered Charlotte’s deadliest street, and it accounts for eight percent of the city’s violent crimes.

Issues:

  • Guns, drugs, and violence.
  • No City/County representation.
  • No landlord accountability
  • Not enough quality businesses.
  • Not enough community police visibility.

The Ask:

  • Landlords to be held accountable to city code enforcement.
  • Hire more police officers that look like the community in which they serve.
  • Review and adopt new public nuisance law enforcement initiatives.
  • City officials need to talk to community residents to address the real issues and find solutions.
