Georgia Deputy Fired After Controversial Arrest

CHARLOTTE, N.C.–

A Georgia sheriff’s deputy seen in a viral video punching a black man, is now out of a job for excessive use of force.

The incident happened after Roderick Walker, his girlfriend, and their 5-year-old son were using a ride share service.

According to a lawyer representing Walker’s family, deputies pulled the driver over for having a broken tail light. During the stop, a sheriff’s deputy asked Walker, who the passenger for his identification.

Things escalated from there as the video shows two Clinton County deputies attempting to arrest Walker. One deputy is on top of Walker while the other is punching him.
