Sally Bringing Heavy Rain and Storms to the Carolinas to End the Week
Remnants of what is now tropical depression Sally will make for a soggy end to the week. Heavy rain could lead to flash flooding with a flash flood watch in effect through Friday. Rainfall totals will range from 4-6″ throughout the Piedmont with locally higher amounts possible. This afternoon rain will become more steady and heavy, which is where we willΒ find our biggest risk for flash flooding. AΒ few stronger storms will be possible with damaging winds being the biggest threat. However, an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out – especially for areas south of I-85. Patchy fog throughout the day with highs reaching the low 70s. Showers will continue through Friday before tapering off completely this weekend. Dry and much cooler with al the fall feels Saturday on. Temps will not get out of the 60s with overnight lows falling into the 40s early next week.
