Hoverboard Dentist Sentenced To 12 Years In Prison
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
A former dentist, sentenced to 12 years in jail for a medicaid fraud scheme. He’s same dentist who was also filmed removing a patients tooth while riding a hoverboard.
Seth Lookhart was convicted on 46 felony and misdemeanor counts.
Lookhart and his former office manager pushed patients to undergo unnecessary sedation, to bill medicaid for the service. While patients were out, some had breathing and heart complications and other woke up to discover Lookhart worked on or removed the wrong teeth.
Lookhart apologized for the incidents but the judge said he was stuck by pages of text messages in which Lookhart showed no remorse.
