GASTONIA, N.C. — Back Yard Burgers is BACK! Former Carolina Panthers’ wide receiver Muhsin Muhammad has teamed up with Axum Capital Partners to open the burger chain in Gastonia, according to the company’s website.
Back Yard Burgers was popular in the Charlotte region over the last several decades but the chain closed 22 stores in several states in 2012, according to the Memphis Business Journal.
The newest Back Yard Burgers location is at 3415 E. Franklin Boulevard in Gastonia. The only other Back Yard Burgers in North Carolina is located in Raleigh.
