LANCASTER, S.C. — The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office arrested Lejarvis Cloud, 33, for trafficking cocaine on Wednesday, September 23rd, according to a news release.
Deputies say they saw Cloud on Bailey Road driving a 2011 Toyota Camry, with moving and equipment violations, when they searched his car at a convenience store, after he pulled over, and found a small amount of suspected marijuana in the driver’s floorboard.
Police say Cloud had a large sum of cash in his pants pocket, and officers found a shoebox in the truck of his Camry containing a vacuum sealed bag with 202 grams of suspected cocaine and a brick of suspected cocaine weighing 1057 grams
The total weight of suspected cocaine is 2.8 pounds, with a street value of just over $100,000, according to a news release.
Police say they took over $12,126 in cash from Cloud.
Cloud was taken to the Lancaster County Detention Center, where he was served with a warrant charging him with trafficking cocaine of more than 400 grams, and his bond was denied, according to a news release.
Sheriff Barry Faile says, “This was a major seizure of cocaine. We haven’t seen this much cocaine in one place in a while. It undoubtedly would have been distributed to countless people here in Lancaster County or elsewhere had we not intercepted it. Our agents were alert and perceptive while going about their routine duties and were able to make this significant arrest.”
