HICKORY, N.C. — Officers say they are searching for a suspect who shot and killed 20-year-old Armstrong Seme, and injured 28-year-old Jalen Shade on September 27th.
The suspect is described as a 5 foot 7 inches tall black man, and police say after he struck up a conversation with Shade around 2 a.m., he shot him multiple times and shot bystander Seme, according to a news release.
Police say witnesses saw three black men wearing dark clothing and face masks approaching Shade in front of Sunny Valley Apartments before the incident.
Catawba County EMS says they took Seme to Frye Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Jalen Shade was taken to the same center to be treated for multiple gunshot wounds, and has since been transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in stable condition.
Investigators say the suspect was familiar with Shade and targeted him.
