City Of Concord Develops New Park With Community Input

CONCORD, N.C. — The Concord Parks And Recreation Department asks for community input in developing a new park in the northwest region of Concord, according to a news release.

Concord Parks and Recreation staff say they are hosting a drop-in Community Workshop at the Cox Mill Elementary School Field shelters on Sunday, October 11th from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Residents of Concord can stop to speak with city and project consultants, and give their feedback on types of outdoor and indoor amenities, and facility choices they would like for the new park, according to a news release.

Officials say everyone at the event must wear a mask and adhere to social distancing guidelines, as recommended to slow the spread of COVID-19.

City of Concord officials say they have partnered with Woolpert’s Charlotte office, specializing in park planning and design, to come up with ideas for the park and a final master plan.
