High & Dry, Steady Warm-Up Builds
Expect highs to slowly creep back into the 80s by midweek, but another cooldown will follow shortly after.
The sunny skies and comfy highs keep on rolling into the workweek, thanks to a series of high-pressure systems that should roll through over the next several days. A weak, dissipating cold front will sweep through the Carolinas overnight into Monday, but it should only bring drier air into our area as rain chances remain minimal through the center of the week. Expect a steady warmup across the region through Wednesday, as winds slowly shift back to the southwest. For now, expect highs to remain in the 60s and 70s for the WCCB Charlotte viewing area before the 80s return briefly by midweek. Recent model trends are putting a new tropical storm in the Gulf of Mexico late next week, which could bring us some much-needed rain by next weekend. While the severe weather risk looks low for now, this is definitely something to watch as we move into the heart of October.
