GASTONIA, NC — Gastonia Professional Baseball says it has narrowed down its team name considerations to five options.
Club officials say they are considering Gastonia Fire Ants, Gastonia Hogzillas, Gastonia Honey Hunters, Gastonia Hotshots, and Gastonia Uppercuts.
Community members submitted over 700 name recommendations online from August 14th through August 31st, according to a news release.
Club officials say fans can read the inspiration behind the five final name choices, and vote for their favorite by clicking here now through October 31st.
“I want to thank the community for collaborating with us on creating a team name that embodies the spirit of Gastonia,” says Club Owner Brandon Bellamy. “I am confident that together we will build a team that we can rally behind, be proud of, and identify with for years to come.”
Club officials say they have also launched sales for its Premium Club Season Tickets for the 2021 season; including 70 home games of the Atlantic League of Professional baseball play.
Season tickets range in price, and all Season Ticket holders will be invited to pick out heir seats based on priority in mid-January at an event held at the ballpark, according to a news release.
“We are committed to offering first-rate, family-friendly entertainment at an affordable price point,” says Club COO David Martin. “When choosing between a night out at the movies or coming out to the FUSE ballpark, from ticket prices to concessions and merchandise, our club will provide great value for all to enjoy.”
Club officials say Season Ticket holders will get on-site parking as part of their package, with a VIP Parking Plan to be announced in Spring 2021, and they can purchase tickets in advance to other events that occur at the FUSE stadium as part of the deal.
