Massive Fire Destroys Lincoln County Athletic Clubhouse
LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A clubhouse at the Westport Swim and Tennis Club in Denver caught fire early Friday morning resulting in the destruction of the building.
The Huntersville Fire Department posted on social media that their Station 2 crew assisted Lincoln County Firefighters with the engulfed structure fire. The department described the incident as being a heavy fire upon arrival.
Huntersville firefighters said they battled the fire that started around 3 a.m. for just under two hours. The estimated reported total time crews took to extinguish the fire was around four hours.
The fire is contained and no injuries were reported.
There is no released information on the estimated damage or how the fire was started.
Fire officials say the cause of the structure fire is under investigation.
