Wet Weather Wanders into Workweek
Clouds and gusty showers will plague the forecast through Monday.
It was a lovely ten-day stretch, but we’ve traded in the sunny 70s and 80s for a wet and windy weekend. Former Hurricane Delta made landfall in Louisiana Friday evening as a high-end Category 2 with winds approaching 100 mph and now sets its sights on the Carolinas. While Delta is certainly in a weaker state now, rain and wind will pelt the Carolinas through the weekend into the start of the workweek. Many spots can expect 1-3″ through Monday morning, with the majority of the rainfall coming on Sunday. Heavy showers and storms should pick up by Sunday morning, some of which could be strong-to-severe at times. A Flood Watch has been posted for all five of our Foothills and High Country counties through Sunday night. The rain should clear out by Tuesday, as sunny skies and highs in the 80s make a return.
