Grammy Award Winning Singer Mary J. Blige Raising Awareness Of Importance Of Breast Cancer Screenings

CHARLOTTE — October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and a new campaign is raising awareness to the disparities Black women face when it comes to screening.

Research shows that Black women are almost 40 percent more likely to die from breast cancer than non-Hispanic White women.

This week, WCCB News spoke with Grammy Award winning artist Mary J. Blige about her efforts to encourage women to schedule their annual mammograms.
