Sunshine Returns for the Week with a Big Cool Down this Weekend

Waking up to patchy dense fog on Tuesday morning with more sunshine through the week.

Patchy dense fog is likely Tuesday morning. Visibility may drop as low as 1/4 mile for some so be careful on your morning commute. After a gray weekend, clouds decrease through the day on Tuesday as we warm to near 80Β° across the Piedmont. High pressure builds in for the week so expect sunny skies with high temperatures in the 70s and lows in the 50s for both Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday, a cold front brings fall back to the Carolinas! This front may carry isolated showers with it on Friday, but the bigger story with this front is the weekend cool down. Expect highs this weekend to only top out in the low/mid 60s with lows in the 40s. The mountains will see highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s both Saturday and Sunday. The first freeze of the season across the High Country is possible this weekend.
