Panthers Place DT Kawann Short On IR Again

For the second straight season, Short's season ends early with a shoulder injury. WCCB Charlotte's Kelli Bartik has the details on the Panthers' starting defensive tackle.

On August 2, 2020, Kawann Short met with the media during a zoom interview. “It’s just a crazy year. Right now, I mean, 2020 is kind of undefeated.”

Back then, the Panthers defensive tackle had no idea how much that statement would ring true.

Fast forward to October 14th… and KK’s season is over, ending early for the second straight year due to a shoulder injury.

The 2-time Pro Bowler will undergo season-ending surgery after suffering a right shoulder injury in the Panthers 23-16 win over the Falcons. Short missed the final 14 games of the 2019 season after suffering a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder.

A tough blow for the Panthers veteran as well as the defensive line.

The Panthers host the Chicago Bears on Sunday at Bank of America Stadium.
