CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte Fire Department says they responded to a residential structure fire in northeast Charlotte where one person died on October 15th.
Firefighters came across heavy fire conditions on Sandringham Place that delayed search and rescue efforts, according to a news release.
Fire Department officials say after the fire was extinguished firefighters used heavy equipment to search the entire structure and found one person dead.
CMPD officials say the origin of the fire is still under investigation, and they are now investigating the death of the victim.
