Georgia Man, Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop Leads To Seizure Of Over One Pound Of Cocaine
IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. — Two Georgia residents were arrested after a traffic stop led to deputies locating more than one and a half pounds of cocaine in their vehicle, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the traffic stop happened on October 5 along Interstate-77, in the northern portion of the county, when they noticed a car with Georgia plates perform a traffic violation.
After talking with the two occupants in the vehicle, identified as 46-year-old Nathan Christian Jr. and 34-year-old Andrea Fredrick, deputies noticed criminal indicators and were able to search the vehicle.
According to Iredell County deputies, while conducting the search they were able to locate around 1.6 pounds of powder cocaine and close to a quarter pound of an unknown type powder, which could possibly be heroin. Two 9 millimeter handguns were also located under the two front seats of the car.
After the search was complete, both suspects were arrested on the scene and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center.
Deputies say both Christian and Fredrick were charged with Felony Trafficking Schedule II Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Cocaine, Felony Maintain a Dwelling or Vehicle for the Sale or use of a Controlled Substance, and Misdemeanor Carry Concealed Weapon.
