Healthy Headlines: CAR T-Cell Therapy

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Using a patient’s own cells to treat cancer is now a reality. It’s called CAR T-cell therapy, and Dr. Alan Skarbnik of Novant Health Hematology recently infused the first patient with this new procedure at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center. Today, Dr.Skarbnik joins Rising to discuss what this treatment means for cancer patients.
