SLED: Former Officer Charged For Soliciting Sex To Dismiss Traffic Citations

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Agents with South Carolina Law Enforcement Division say 29-year-old James Williams is under arrest for soliciting sexual acts in exchange for dismissing traffic citations.

A former officer with the Bennettsville Police Department, Williams is charged with misconduct in office, according to a news release.

Investigators say Williams is being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center, and his case will be prosecuted by the Fourth Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
