Voter Registration Drives Ramping Up Across Charlotte
CHARLOTTE — Organizations all across Charlotte are pushing a get out to vote message.
Voter registration drives are ramping up across our area. The group ‘Pull Up Neighbor’ was out on Freedom Drive in West Charlotte urging people to register to vote. Those in attendance received personal protective equipment all while getting educated on the voting process.
Organizers say they want to register as many people as possible.
“We’re certainly educating them on the importance of local elections. In many instances, and many ways, local elections are far more important and critical when it comes to electing folks who are going to make decisions about your everyday life,” says Alesha Brown, organizer.
You can still register and vote during the early voting period which runs from October 15 through October 31. If you want to vote by mail, you have until 5pm on October 27th to request an absentee ballot.
