Over 98,000 People In Mecklenburg County Cast Their Ballot In Early Voting

CHARLOTTE — More than 98-thousand people in Mecklenburg County have already cast their ballot for this year’s election.

Sunday, dozens turned out to Bank of America Stadium, and the Spectrum Center to vote early.  Many of them told us why it’s vitally important.

At Romare Bearden Park, Charlotte’s pastors rallied to get ‘Souls to the polls’.  The group, ‘Concerned Clergy of Charlotte, along with the Urban League, and the NAACP sponsored the event, while sending a strong message of the importance of exercising your right to vote.

“Our theme is from protesting to polls.  We’ve heard from our younger generation, and we understand what’s going on in our country and this is the most important election probably in the last century,” says Pastor Kenneth Robinson, organizer.

You can still register and vote during the early voting period which runs through October 31st.
