Rain Leaves, Warmth Steadily Returns

Expect highs in the Piedmont to return to the upper 70s by midweek.

The Queen City’s four-day streak in 80s came to a screeching halt Sunday afternoon, as clouds and showers made it a struggle to get out of the 50s and 60s. The heaviest of the rain may be past us this evening, but off-and-on showers will continue through the early morning hours on Monday. The WCCB Charlotte viewing area should be almost completely dry by your morning commute, but patchy fog could be an issue early on. The clouds will stick around, however, as southerly winds fuel yet another warmup through the first half of the week. Highs should increase from the upper 60s to the upper 70s in the Piedmont from Monday to Wednesday. Rain chances will likely return for the second half of the workweek, thanks to the remnants of Tropical Storm Zeta, currently located in the Caribbean.
