Hundreds Attend Charlotte Motor Speedway Drive-Thru ‘Track N Treat’ Event

CHARLOTTE — Charlotte Motor Speedway is helping give families a physically-distanced way to celebrate Halloween this weekend.  The speedway hosted a drive-thru ‘track n treat’ event Sunday afternoon.

Families dressed up in their best costumes and drove around the track to collect candy from the safety of their cars.  Organizers say the turnout and response from the community was overwhelming.

“We had 1200 people register for the even, that was capacity, so we actually sold out although it’s a free event, we sold it out in under 24 hours,” says Mike Gilroy with Charlotte Motor Speedway.

After the unique trick or treat experience, guests could then enjoy their candy while watching Sunday’s NASCAR race on a 16-thousand square foot screen.
