Charlotte Man Arrested For Secretly Peeping On Women In University Area

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they arrested a Charlotte man for secretly peeping on women in the University area.

Detectives with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit charged 43-year-old Seon Clarke for a series of peeping incidents that were reported at the University Village apartment complex, according to a news release.

Police say they were called to Nugget Court in reference to a man who was peeping into the window of an apartment.  When officers arrived on the scene, they say they located a person matching the description of the suspect and began speaking with him.

The suspect, identified as Clarke, ran from officers but was quickly apprehended without incident, according to CMPD.  Clarke was taken into custody and charged with secret peeping and resisting arrest.

Detectives say further investigation revealed that Clarke was a suspect in two additional cases.  Additional warrants for secret peeping were issued and Clarke was taken into custody on October 20th.

During one of the incidents, Clarke is accused of taking secret photographs of a 22-year-old woman while she was inside her apartment on Gold Rush Boulevard, according to a police report.

CMPD says the case is still active and anyone with additional information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
