CHARLOTTE, N.C. (News Release) –- The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Animal Care & Control Division (AC&C) launched a new dog adoption promotion for the Fall season. “Fall in Love with a Lil’ Pumpkin” started last Thursday, October 22, and will run as long as the adoption center is seeing an increased number of adoptable dogs waiting for their new homes.
For the first time this year, CMPD AC&C has seen an increase of dogs entering the shelter in the past two weeks. In order to continue to make room for more dogs coming in, they are encouraging the community to adopt, foster, staycation, and share adoptable dogs on social media.
If you are interested in adding a new furry friend to your family, visit the AC&C adoption center at 8315 Byrum Drive in Charlotte, located just one mile off I-485 – Exit 6 (West Blvd), or visit animals.cmpd.org.
All dogs in the adoption center and foster homes will appear on the website. Adoption fees will be waived on all dogs when a financial donation of your choice is made to support shelter programs is made. Mecklenburg County residents will be required to pay a $10 pet license fee on dogs over the age of four months.
The adoption center is open 7 days a week, Monday to Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends.
