Zeta Will Soon Race Toward the Carolinas

Watches, Warnings and Advisories in place ahead of a cold front and Zeta. 
Zeta will race toward the Carolinas with the help of an approaching cold front. These two systems will merge over the Carolinas which will bring us high winds, rain and the potential for isolated strong to severe storms.
 

Tropical Storm Warning in effect for the majority of the WCCB area. This warning in effect for Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Rowan, Iredell counties and counties to the west.

Wind Advisory is in effect for areas east of the Tropical Storm Warning. Wind Advisory in effect Thursday from 6 am – 6 pm.

Flash Flood Watch for Ashe, Watauga, Wilkes, Avery, Burke and Caldwell counties from midnight tonight through Thursday afternoon.

High Wind Watch in effect from 2 am Thursday through Thursday evening from the southern Blue Ridge and Grayson Highlands of Virginia into the mountains of North Carolina.

By Friday expect sunny skies with high temperatures dropping through the weekend. Weekend high temperatures will only top out near 60 degrees and lows near 40 degrees across the Piedmont. 10 degrees cooler for highs and lows in the Mountains.
