CHARLOTTE, N.C. (News Release) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Animal Care & Control (AC&C) is reminding pet owners that the best place for your pets to be today is inside!
The high winds are expecting throughout the day are dangerous and can cause trees to fall or large limbs to break out of trees. CMPD AC&C has responded to emergency situations in the past where trees have fallen and trapped pets leaving some injured.
Safety reminders:
- Make sure your pet is wearing a collar or harness and has an identification tag.
- Keep your petβs leashes out and easy to grab in case you need to evacuate your home.
